The BEST Chewy Molasses Cookie Recipe!

When I need hot sugary comfort food, I automatically turn to the old classic: Hot cookies. Classics are classics for a reason, right? Sometimes I’ll make peanut butter, oatmeal, or chocolate chip (or a combination…

I finally got wedding pictures up on the wall, and I finally got wedding pictures up on the wall, and even if they're a little crooked and not all spaced quite correctly, they bring me such joy. 🥰

Thanks to @marissatylerphoto for these lovelies! 📷

I'm feeling especially thankful today. For a husb I'm feeling especially thankful today.

For a husband who makes my coffee while I'm in bed with a migraine.

For professors who make virtual class possible.

For colorful flowers in the ditches.

For curly-headed babies grinning at me as I stop for two minutes, and their mama who hugs me.

For friends who stop by unexpectedly.

For in-laws who feed me when I forget my lunch. (And a husband who make sure I get fed, haha!)

For hats and sunglasses that shade my sensitive eyes.

All these things make life sweet, and my day a little brighter.

If ever there was an unofficial love language, it' If ever there was an unofficial love language, it's food.

I don't typically eat breakfast, but I love making breakfast! So making a week's worth of breakfasts for Caleb each weekend as a part of my meal prepping has become my favorite thing: even if I don't always eat it myself.

Yesterday, I wanted to make something fun. Not just overnight oatmeal or breakfast burritos this week. I whipped up some chocolate muffins, then hid a pocket of peanut butter inside each one. And waited for him to bite in before I said anything. His reaction was priceless, he couldn't stop laughing. Or eating muffins.

Because if there's a certain food that is my husband's particular love language, that would be peanut butter and chocolate.

Mine? Oh, chocolate too. And tater-tots. Anything chocolate, or anything potato.

What's yours?

School's coming. And it's coming FAST. Every year School's coming. And it's coming FAST.

Every year, approaching my first week, I become more apprehensive.

Every year, I question if I'll be able to make it through the year, the semester, the class.

Once I get into routine, begin the readings, start working on assignments, I know I'll enjoy it.

But I never thought I would be here. I didn't think I COULD be.

It's my senior year. And it looks a lot different than I ever could have imagined. Last year's seniors said that. This year's will too.

But I never thought I would get here. I couldn't imagine my 'sick' self actually making it through a semester, when I started--much less finishing the degree that I so wanted.

But I hoped.

I prayed.

I pursued.

And here I am.

Ready to finish off my bachelor's.

And I am so, so thankful for every person who has helped me on this journey. The teachers who understood, who encouraged, who checked up on me, who cared for me. The peers who pushed me and loved me as family. The support system that amazes me and overwhelms me. The God who brought me farther than I ever could have imagined.

School starts on Wednesday. Prepare as much as I can, I'm still apprehensive. But even though the fear is still there, will probably always be there, I step out, ready in faith.

I used to live on country roads, go walking by mys I used to live on country roads, go walking by myself alone, watch sparrows flitting in the sky, and never see a soul drive by.

Now I've adjusted to living in town, watch the bustling all around, living up in my perch just so, I can watch business down below.

I didn't expect the change to come so naturally. To walk to the post office was new to me. But now, as I'm so visual, I take photos on my way--a daily ritual.

Still, when I miss my country life, we walk around town, husband and wife, barefoot on the cobblestones, laughing together, watching the wind blow.
